Michael Cuccione Sr.’s professional career started with White Spot restaurants where he was general manager for 14 years. He rolled his experiences into director of operations of the largest Burger King franchise in British Columbia, Canada encompassing 11 locations and sales in excess of $11.5 million per year with a team of over 400 employees. He is currently contracting his services as project manager for Public Works & Government Services of Canada.
He formerly represented B.C. Burger King franchisees holding the positions of member of the Business Planning Council, vice president of the Canada Franchisee Association, and board of director for the National Franchisee Association.
Mike moved to Canada from Italy in 1958 and the preservation of the Italian culture and heritage is very important to him. He is actively involved in the Italian community as president of the Associazione Culturale Calabrese (association preserving the culture of the southern region of Italy in which he was born) and as a board of director of the Italian Cultural Centre.
Michael Cuccione Sr. is uncle to Michael Cuccione and has been a part of the Foundation since it was founded in 1997. As president of the Foundation, his goal is to carry on Michael’s legacy through the successes of the Foundation which will be measured by research breakthroughs that provide friendlier treatments and the eventual cure of
John Audia is currently general manager of Stylus, Made to Order Sofas (a division of Terravist, a publicly traded income trust on the Toronto Stock Exchange) whom he’s been employed with for the majority of his professional career.
John was born in Italy and moved to Canada in 1968. Proud of his Italian heritage he is a board of director of the Associazione Culturale Calabrese, an association of his birth region that promotes events to preserve his Italian culture and heritage. John has been an active soccer coach for 25 years and has successfully lead a number of his teams to various provincial championships.
He is married, has 2 children, and is dedicated to his family. Knowing Michael, John was inspired by him which motivated him to be involved with the Foundation. John’s mother passed away due to cancer and it further challenged him to want to make a difference to find the cure.
Mr. Salvatore Audia was born and raised in east Vancouver ,BC and Graduated from Templeton High School. Further studies in Marketing and business administration resulted with an early career path in retail management. This included managing Nike Canada's original retail outlet. Further education in the property and Casualty Insurance Industry then started a new career which now has exceeded 25 years. Sal is currently the President/Owner of the GNK Insurance Group of Companies, a growing General Insurance brokerage business.
Sal has been a director with the Michael Cuccione Foundation for 10 years and currently holds the co-treasurer position. Sal also served as vice-president of the Confratellanza Italo- Canadese Society and was recently awarded the Hon. Angelo E. Branca Q.C Memorial Award in 2014. He was honored with a lifetime Honorary Award for the Y.H.S Blackwatch Golf Tournaments and received the 2005 York House School outstanding Volunteer Award. Sal and the GNK team also donated a new Vehicle to The Deaf & Blind Society at the 50th anniversary of the Company. At Press time, Sal just received news that he was being nominated for the Governor's General's Canadian caring award.
Sal still has many family and Friends residing in East Vancouver and he has re-connected with his old high school volunteering with a foundation called: theboysclubnetwork.com. The foundation provides "H.O.P.E." hope , opportunities , Positive role models, and Education. Sal enjoys being a mentor to the boys and meeting with them to share his own personal experiences to reach business success. Sal has two adult Children a daughter named Tavia and a son , Steven . He is grateful for their good health and opportunities that will come their way.
Sal still remembers the first time he met Michael, he was an old soul in a young boy's body. One of the most inspirational Speakers he has ever heard. It's a honor to serve on this board to contribute making a difference as Michael so proudly did.
Dianne Bagan was employed with Enrich International – Canada, (Unicity Network Canada), a nutritional supplement company for 10 years from 1994 until 2004. During that time she served as Manager of Distributor Support, Director of Administration, Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Vice President of Distributor and Corporate Development and for the last five years as General Manager of Canada. During her role as General Manager she was responsible for the leadership and management all of the Canadian operation including Human Resources, Customer Service, Administration, Communications and Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Distribution and Operations.
Dianne has comprehensive experience in the Direct Selling Industry and sales and marketing within the nutritional supplement industry. She served on the Board of Directors of the Direct Sellers Association from 2001 until 2004. Prior to that time, Dianne worked for the T. Eaton Co. Ltd in the Human Resources department from 1986 to 1990. Dianne started her volunteer work as a teenager working with the Canadian Red Cross in Edmonton, Alberta and later with Delta Assist in Delta, BC.
Dianne came to know Michael when he was 10 years old and recovering from his bone marrow transplant. She was touched by Michael’s inspiration and dream to find a cure for childhood cancer as he spoke at several Enrich International events across Canada. Dianne has been attending the annual fundraisers since they started in 1996 and is honored and proud to share Michael’s passion to ‘Make a Difference’ in this world and to serve on the Michael Cuccione Foundation Board of Directors.
Dianne lives in South Surrey, BC with her husband, David who knew Michael and shares Dianne’s passion to continue Michael’s work. They have two children and five grandchildren.
Domenic Cuccione is the father to the late Michael Cuccione. He coached soccer for over 30 years and enjoyed participating in his community.
He has been in the Marble and Granite industry for many years and is working with the company Italstone Marble & Granite. His pride is his family and Michael continues to be his inspiration.
Domenic and his wife Gloria share their story at various speaking engagements to continue to spread Michael message of hope! He has been a board of director for the Michael Cuccione Foundation for over 11 years and he will never give up on this important cause!
Gloria Cuccione is the mother to the late Michael Cuccione. She ran her own fashion business called Cucci Fashions for 10 years until her son Michael was diagnosed with cancer.
Gloria and her family are proudly supporting Michael's vision of making a difference for childhood cancer. Gloria has been inspired by her own son Michael to help continue his legacy.
