17th Annual Fundraising Gala 2012Tweet
Date: September 29, 2012
We presented $2,000,000 at our 17th Annual Fundraising Gala as part of our 5 million dollar commitment. With the amazing support from the Government this was made possible. These funds will keep the Michael Cuccione Childhood Cancer Research Program going strong to help save more children's lives from cancer. We greeted over 700 guests at the front of the room and magic happened. Our son Steve finally broke his silence and spoke to our guests for the very first time. He is now 24 years old and has done allot of healing in the past 11 years that we lost Michael.
It was a huge breakthrough for him and meant the world to us to hear such a powerful speech come from his broken heart. He ended by saying thank you to everyone for supporting my brothers mission and that he misses him every day of his life. We also had our first and only grandson Cristian with us for part of the event. He is a dream come true, we just love him so much. He had come into this world right on Michael's 16th Annual last year so it was a full circle moment.
The entertainment was unbelievable. We had a singer that made you think Michael Buble was in the house. We had a 10 piece act that sang the oldies right up to the current hit songs of today. They did costume changes and sang better that some of the original artists. They were so good that we have booked them for next year! The night is always so chilling to see the kind of support from so many wonderful people. This continues to warm our hearts.
The great news is that we raised over $200,000 for this important cause. Another huge success! Hugs to all that participated and supported us again this year!
